About the Author
I didn’t grow up in a Christian home, so when I became a parent, I was learning how to build a faith-filled home from the ground up. I wanted children’s books that didn’t just teach Bible stories, but also showed my children how to practice their faith in everyday life — and gave me the words to guide them.
I have the privilege of overseeing my church’s kids ministry. In that role, I watched parents struggle with Sunday morning drop-off at the kids church rooms. They loved their children and wanted them to succeed, but many weren’t sure how to prepare them or what to say.
Three simple principles surfaced again and again:
Faith habits start at home.
Consistent language builds confidence.
Children thrive when they know what to expect.
My career in child health and safety reinforced those same ideas. Whether preparing children for emergency drills or teaching healthy habits, I saw how simple, consistent language and clear expectations helped children feel safe, confident, and ready for new experiences.
That’s when I began asking:
What if we prepared kids for church the same way?
My first scripted story, I Go to Church, was created to give families simple words and routines to practice before, during, and after church. Parents felt more confident, children felt more secure, and Sunday morning drop-offs became calmer.
As I searched for the words, rhythms, and tools I longed for as a parent, I began writing them down — first for my own family and church community, and now with the hope that they will serve yours, too.
Today, I write stories that equip caregivers with the words, rhythms, and tools to help children grow in faith, character, confidence, and healthy habits.
I also write a separate series through Bliss Ranch, inspired by the real animals at the ranch I run. These stories use the unique personalities and adventures of our animals to help children explore social-emotional skills like empathy, resilience, friendship, and understanding their feelings.
Whether through faith-filled conversations or heart-centered animal stories, my hope is to create books that help children navigate life’s moments with confidence — and give caregivers meaningful ways to connect.
I write the books I wish I’d had.
