Katherine Bliss is a children’s author who writes stories to help kids and their grown-ups navigate big feelings and new situations. A graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, she studied animal science, taught students about calf care, and assisted with calf births. She then spent eight years working to keep young children healthy and safe, where Katherine saw firsthand how the words adults use can shape a child’s whole life.

Each of her stories is inspired by moments that have happened at Bliss Ranch, her home on California’s Central Coast, where she lives with her husband, Andrew, their two children, and a barnyard of fluffy and feathered friends. She also leads a fun, safe, and supportive environment for little ones at her church.

You can find Katherine on her website at https://www.katherinebliss.com/ and author Instagram account for news on upcoming stories; including Little Moo Stories for farm animal book updates, as well as her Bliss Ranch website, Instagram, and Facebook.

Gentle ranch adventures for big feelings

In Winston's New Home, a fluffy little steer moves from Colorado to California. New sounds, smells, animals, and people cause Winston to feel very nervous! What’s a little steer to do when he feels this way?

Bring home Winston’s New Home to find out!

Winston’s New Home is the first book in the Little Moo Stories series. These stories use the unique personalities and adventures of the real animals at Bliss Ranch to help children explore social-emotional skills, such as understanding emotions, getting along with others, and learning self-regulation tools so a calm body is in charge. At the same time, kids (and possibly their grown-up) are learning real ranch words from the ‘Little Ranch Dictionary’ at the end of each book. Bonus! As grown-ups read these stories, they are learning strategies to be intentional with their words and actions during big feeling moments.
